yeah I was but then I decided to save the $15k I had saved and move instead since I have been wanting to get out of the Florida Keys. So I spent a little money to make my car a little faster and just keep it for the time being.

Eurocode was supposed to get me the report from JE about what happened to my piston rings. I'll have to give them a call tomorrow and see what they found out. I'm hoping to be back up in the next 2 to 3 weeks. I'm getting a few things together now for a custom intake manifold while I'm down.

Don't give up on your 2.0 plans just yet. There are a few that have failed but there are others out there with zero problems. I'd just like to find out what exactly happened to mine.

WHY?

NO need to give up all plans just from one bad experience. One such potential root cause into John's motor is that it was babied and not driving hard to break the rings in. Once John got it (he got it every so slightly used) he beat the snot out of it and found the weakest link. Obviously we'll know the real root cause once the experts weigh in (JE, E-code, etc...)

Its all about proper motor break in. Drive it hard from the getgo and break the rings in. All is good from there.


My car is perfectly fine. I'm going back to NJ in early September for a full retune so it'll then be at its maximum potential. Finally got Mark on the phone today and scheduled my appointment. Oh, and I threw in a set of aftermarket cams just because I can and it'll help out a bit.

If it was the $100 that was for waterfest only and not 1 B6 actually made it onto the track.

He knew no one was going to beat his time which is why he put up the money, has to do with the fact we know what the conditions are like at waterfest.

But there is few drag strips near Baltimore, so it isn't like people couldn't just hit the drag strip the night before heading out to H20.

Capitol is about 10 miles from my house, but probably 160 miles from Ocean City where H20i is held.

Its mostly street racing for h20 unfortunately. I would also be concerned with racing my car that hard @ the track just before embarking on such a lengthy road trip that will involve even more racing.

I was faced with this exact decision last year before H20i. I decided to go before dynoing or racing. I had a great time @ h20. I went to the track the following week and then broke my transmission *LoL*.

H20 would probably yield better times than waterfest due to better weather conditions, but oh well.

Or we can cruise by Atco in NJ on our way down to H2Oi. I just hope my car will be done by then (retune-wise). It will be a last minute decision on whether or not I'm coming down to H20i.
