    SORRY ABOUT MY ENGLISH IM FRECH....

    OK here's the topic... I've made imported A california car to canada... here we need to get city light automaticly on so the dude that made the mod to get city light on automaticly done something wrong but I don't know what...

    that's not the city light that come on that's the low beam but this is not the real fuck... the real fuck if that I can put the car ready to start without a key I just have to turn the light on witout any key in the ignition and the car is ready to start....

    for example if I start the car then put the light on I can remove the key and the car still run.....

    I call the dude and he said we just paint the sensor that make your light come on at dark i've checked on the miror and isn't painted so he obviously done something else....

    someone has an idea???

    Well, it seams that the lighting /wiring modification is somehow back feeding +VBATT and bypassing the igniting switch. IE, what ever the modification to power the daytime running light requirement, is connected to the ignition switch circuit, and allows +vbatt to remain connected to the load side of the ignition switch, effectively jumpering past the switch.
    The daytime running lights, are enabled via a recoding of the Vehicle Central Electric Control Module, there is no need to modify any wires in any way. I suggest the changes made to the wiring, be removed, and the VCECM be recoded to enable the daytime running lights properly. A VAG-COM/VCDS tool is needed to recode the control module.

    Do you understand the proper way to enable the DRL, as I explained? Not that you know what to do, necessarily, but that you understand the concept of the proper method to enable the DRL? You can PM me if you need more help.

    OK, I just wanted to check to make sure the situation was explained so you could proceed to the fix. Hopefully, all you need to do is remove the wires that where added at the ignition switch. The controller for the exterior lightingfdflk is the Vehicle Central Electric Control Module. The coding of the module is "00014" for DRL with HID Xenon OEM low beams, or "00004" for DRL and Halogen H7 Low beams.

    From Ross-Tech:

    "
    09-Elec. Ctrl. Mod. K1 – KWP1281
    VAG-COM works fine.
    Tweak: Coding options for lighting Coding is 000XY.
    X=1 for Xenon Headlights,
    X=0 for conventional Halogens.
    Country DRLs: Fogs w/o low beams:
    Y=1 RDW (Rest of World) No Yes
    Y=2 NDL (Netherlands) Yes Yes
    Y=3 USA No No
    Y=4 KAN (Canada) Yes Yes
    Y=5 DAN (Denmark?) Yes Yes
    Y=6 SON (Other?) Yes Yes
    Fogs w/o low beams only appears to work on 2002 models. For 2003+ models, we know of no way to run the fogs without the low beams, except Canadian, which turns on Daytime Running Lamps (DRL's). We are not sure why there are so many Yes/Yes combinations; there must be some other features controller by this. The state of the Radio and Climate Control lighting is affected by this coding as well."
