    1.8 Springs on 2.8

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Can I put 1.8 Springs on a 2.8 with stock (Maybe) shocks.

They are H&R Springs. Shocks, I plan on getting new ones in the near future but first I want to put the springs on.

    Also, both cars are quattro.

    Re: 1.8 Springs on 2.8

i've also heard it works just fine and is actually a tad lower which is better because stock sport has a bit higher gap in the front anyway. just throwing that out there. i've heard plenty more that it works fine than not so it wouldn't hurt anything to give it a shot and report back and give some sort of confirmation so the next person along can be that much more sure.

It won't be the best corner carver in the world but it will work just fine.

    Re: 1.8 Springs on 2.8

The front end will more than likely sit lower because the V6 weighs more than the 1.8T.

    Re: 1.8 Springs on 2.8

I doubt it will be a big deal for normal daily driving. The front of your car will be undersprung compared to the rear. At the limit this generally leads to inital understeer and then oversteer but it depends on the tires and how the car is driven too. Unless you are autocrossing or doing track days I doubt it would matter. With halfway decent sway bars I'd run it on the track like that just out of curiosity.
