screwed by the stealership!!

well I bought my car from john holtz in rochester new york... I received 1 key with it.. now this is only my second time buying a car from a dealership... and my first car I only got 1 set of keys.. I didn't know untill I got that letter we all received from audi of america and I did some research about keys that I found out I was supposed to get two real keys and a vallet key of some sort.. well I didn't so I called about my other key and I just received an email from the salesman stating that he has no record of a missing key and seeings how I bought my car nine months ago the statue of limitations no longer applys.. and that I am 'out of luck'

If it was a CPO, then they are required to give you the same amount of keys as you would have if you bought it brand new. Call AoA and see about getting you the spare.

had the same issue when i bought mine in 2003. i paid for my won valet key but made them make me the plastic key that can go in your wallet

Ahh over a key, you didnt get screwed that bad. Dealerships have really screwed people alot worse be happy it was a key.

I didn't get a valet key or a plastic key, the dealership told me they were giving me the better deal by giving me a new keyfob...LOL I'm thinking of calling AoA and crying...

BTW, you are in Northern California, you didn't happen to buy your car in Elk Grove, did you?

Key cost $135 to reproduce. If you only have one, you lose it...it is much more than that...

understandable... but its still a big expense on my part if something happens to the only key i have not to mention I wouldn't be able to drive my car or anything.. untill I get the new key.. and theres also the thought that someone else also has a key to my car...

You never said if it was CPO or not. I only got one key with mine, but I bought it from an independent lot...not Audi dealership. I did buy another on eBay and the dealer programed it for 100

guys, every car comes with two main keys and a skeleton spare (valet in our case)... shoulda asked when you bought it.

Like someone else said i would try AOA first. IF thats doesnt work i would ask to talk to the GSM( General Sales Manager) and nicely explain the situation and ask him to fix it. If he declines and you really feel like making a point of this i would explain to him that you feel that this is very poor customer service and you are willing to stand out on the PUBLIC sidewalk in front of his dealership on Saturdays with a sign explaianing your experiece to every new customer coming on his lot.

Let us know, how this goes, my car is only a month old and would press it if I can! I don't have the wallet key and the Valet key. I do have a brand new spare key fob, though.
