Just got an A6 (problem entering radio code)

Anyone know how to enter the radio code a 1997 audi a6?

Press P.SCAN & RBDS at the same time until 1000 is displayed instead of SAFE. Use the preset station buttons 1 through 4 to enter your code. Then press P.SCAN & RBDS at the same time again until SAFE is displayed again. Release the buttons and you should be unlocked after a same delay. If the display flashes SAFE and stays locked, wrong code number. If you enter the wrong code twice, the radio will be locked out from entering the code for one hour! The kicker is the manual says the radio display has to stay on for that hour with the key in the ignition for the radio to reset so you can try again.
