05.5 b7 not supported by APR flash?

Now I have been told by a APR distributor, YarrowSports to be exact, that the software they put out for the 4.2 won't fit in the 05.5 B7 for various reasons memory wise. BUT, I've heard that some 05.5'ers are in fact running the software. Can a legite APR official or someone with a good knowledge on the situation chime in. I've searched and found facts that would support both stories but I want to know the REAL deal on this. Thanks.

Why not phone APR? They have a great hotline that will put you in touch with someone who will know for sure.

I believe it doesnt have the same memory capacity as the later years....

The ECUs changed from 05 to 05.5 and then again in 06. There were a lot of problems with the various companies for the 05.5 flash. I think some worked it out and others just didn't bother with the 05.5. I didn't care for what was available at the time so I got an actual chip soldered in. Not 100% sure about the APR but I think other 05.5 members have the flash.

I have the APR chip. They actually downloaded the codes from my car (2005.5) to test the chip. However, I don't have the flash. I have a soldered chip. They told me I could get the flash, but I would be limited as to how many programs I could have on it. So I opted for the soldered chip to get more programs. As far as other 2005.5 cars not being able to get chipped, that is something APR would have to tell you. I don't have the details on that. Hope this helps. Oh, by the way, I worked with Chris George and Keith when they were downloading the codes. Maybe you could ask for one of those guys when you call about the chip. I think I'm actualy leaning twoards UNIchip flash now..... They fully support the 05.5's and it comes with a free dyno from the shop! Unichip claims 361 CHP, 319 CT, for 550$ plus a free dyno...... Doesnt sound too bad to me. The actual shop is Swift Motorsports down in CT. Still debating tho.....

I don't think a chip on a NA car would give you an extra 20chp.

Someone must have experience with an 05.5 + chip. If memory is the issue, is it possible to just get a few programs, say 91, 93 and one race fuel without having to solder anything?
