9 August- Fahren und Essen: drive to Gasthaus Restaurant!

Manchester TN is our destination, with a lunch scheduled for about 1 PM. Atlanta Cherokee Chapter ACNA is leaving northside about 930 AM, will drive up 75 and 41 (some nice twisties up past Chattanooga).

Last call (almost)

We're departing the Cracker barrel at I-75/Chastain at 0930 Saturday. HotLanta will have a stream running north! BUT, we'd love for any drop-ins to join us enroute, @ Chattanooga Audi, or @ the Gasthaus Manchester TN. IF you want to join, just post here so we can give Gasthaus a head-count!

Itinerary UPDATE:
FAHREN
0830: HotLanta crowd meets for breakfast at Cracker Barrel on the I-75 Chastain Road exit (271)
0930: Sortie northwards on I-75
1130: Arrive Chattanooga Audi for social hour and R&R
1230: depart to Manchester (via US-41 at Monteagle/top of the mountain)
1340: arrive Gasthaus in Manchester TN! (EDT: 1240 CDT)

ESSEN

1430: wind them up and depart. Chris May willl lead us to a scenic overlook up on The Mountain!

1830: all closed up on I-75 and Chastain we hope after a full day of friends and fun!

LMK (email or post here) if you are an ADD to the headcount. We need to alert Die Gasthaus of our bodycount so they can prepare a cell, er, table for us!

We had a gas: Some dashes on the I-roads, a great stop at Chattanooga Audi where they have a nice new clean shop with all the right stuff. We ogled the showroom floors and sat in all the eye-candy that rolls.

From there we struck out cross-country on US-41 all the way up past Nickajack Dam. From here we climbed Monteagle Pass at a good clip (than you coolant system: never saw temps above 96*C while clipping along at WayTooFast).

Cooling off at top of the Pass:

We dropped back down off Monteagle using US-41, with a nice stretch of twisties that would make the Tail of The Dragon proud!

German food in Manchester, with food prepared by Franz (former sidecar racer who once had a fun match with Walter Rorhl) and his family. And they made Splenda-laced Streudel and Black Forest Tart for your truly!

Old Stone Fort park provided a fabulous pic setting, and we enjoyed the shade!

It was a full day; we got home at 7:30 or so, 350 miles, and miles of smiles to remember!
