    Bosch F5DPOR vs ngk BRK8E-IX

Currently running the NGKs with no issues.

I was wondering is there any reason at all to give the Bosch sidefires a try? Or just stick with the NGK?

    stage3+ car. 93 octane.

Ive been reading about these, but there is next to no comparative information or results posted. Mostly anecdotal "i like these plugs but i dont like those plugs" type stuff.

What are these plugs doing on the dyno and the track VS the iridiums?

Visually the machining is not the greatest on the bosch, lot of rough spots and sharp points on the ground strap weld. Aside from the overall design difference of a side fire vs top down fire, how do these plugs stand out against the standard lower heat range NGK plugs?

Re: Bosch F5DPOR vs ngk BRK8E-IX

Actually, I have heard good feedback on the BKR8E-IX. I currently have the F5DP0R plugs and they work very well in terms of low misfires and lower CFs.

I think that the point here is that either one of these plugs are better than the OEM PFR6Q and the standard BKR6E/BKR7E plugs. All of these 6/7 heat range plugs (NGK heat range) are not ideal for the kind of combustion temps that Stage 3 setups can make and due to heat range of the F5DP0R/BKR8E-IX, they will reduce cylinder pressures via the lower heat range. (temp vs pressure)

I have not seen any excessive fouling on the F5DP0R. I'm betting that the BKR8E-IX would be about the same.

I just saw a price of $8 on the BKR8E-IX plugs. These Bosch plugs are pretty damn pricey at $16ea. I have 10K miles on mine now and I'd think that I'll want to replace them at 20-30K miles just due to the stress they encounter.

I'm going to try a set. I also see that the NGKs have a .030" gap. The Bosch plugs run a .024" gap. My A6's Bremi coils are really powerful in comparison to the B5 S4's coils. I can definitely jump the .030" gap at Stage 3 boost levels.

hmm. well i gap my ngks down to .026... i think im going to skip playing with the bosch plugs unless someone can chime in with something more definitive.

    Guess i like tinkering around.
