Anyone have evidence that any of the newer proposed cars will have them? I surprised not every car company is using them for all of their advertised "benefits."

What gets me is when a car company will use them on a model, drop using them and then use them again. I still don't understand what compels them to do that.

I love LED tail lights. Something I wish the S5 had and it most certainly already should.

How is LED tails annoying and require more maintenance?

True, when the LEDs goes, you need to buy new assemblies, but since they last significantly longer than tungsten-filament bulbs, they require less maintenance.

I am sorry for the misunderstanding. It is basically more expensive for Audi to replace these things when your car is under warranty. So it is a ballance between high tech looks and warranty costs for the manufacturer. Product managers look at these things and make their own decisions as to what makes sense for the manufacturer.

would be nice if Audi had more cars with LEDs since the whole BMW lineup minus the 3 sedan have LEDs. Even the C class has LEDs now.

The 2009 3-series sedan WILL have LED tails. They just released photos.

I'm sure you'll be thrilled to hear me assure you once again that there are no LEDs are available for the B7. Live with it, your A4 tails don't look all that bad.

Tiesto, don't worry in neither of your cars will you get close enough to see what my tail looks like and for sure I will never be behind you to notice yours.

audi is saving the LEDs to be added closer to the end of the B8 production run. standard issue to create more interest in a vehicle that's a few years old. gotta hold out til then. hopefully someone will come up with some "tasteful" LEDs for the B7, but i'm not going to hold my breath.

i am surprised that LEDs are not mandatory as they are a fair amoiunt safer than "bulb" taillights.

LED light up much fast than regular bulbs when you apply the brakes. Those milliseconds can be the difference between a driver getting stopped before they hit you and them plowing into your rear.

Also LEDs don't burn out all at once. So if one goes bad the car still has brake lights.

I wish the government just made them mandatory already (they look so much better too )

8T0 945 095 B outer left and 8T0 945 093 A inner left.
8T0 945 096 B outer right and 8T0 945 094 A inner right.
(Basically the same als the regular light part numbers but with the letters added)

Plus new required connectors: 1J0 973 714 and 3B0 972 724.

Who's gonna be the first trying to fit them? I guess it requires some recoding, and maybe rewireing as well, since the regular inner lights don't have a brake-light bulb. Hmm..

I have an '09...sorry to tell you that it doesn't have the LEDs. maybe they will change, but i doubt it.

The lights do not drop right in. The connectors and wiring is different for these lights in comparison to the regular tails. Kufatec (one of our German partners) is working on building an adapter to allow for retrofitting.
