well my car is not well. here's the problem

after every drive my car seems to want to puke out coolant from the hose that is at the bottom of the tank that goes to no where. no coolant leaks anywhere else but there. i have filled the tank up twice now and it puked it all out every time.

every bit of help well be appreciated.

    TIA

you mean the overflow hose? Are you adding too much coolant then its getting hot? Do you have a "low coolant" warning?

    Re: My ride is SICK!

going home one night my coolant light came on so i didnt think much of it. I filled it back up the next day before i left for work. it was fine when i went to work felt fine when i went home but it wasnt. the car starts to puke out coolant until it was empty. I didnt know it was empty until the next day i woke up and went to work. so now i filled it back up this morning and went on to work and now i get home and shut off the engine its pukes out more coolant. so i fill it up again and will have to get more coolant since i used it all already

Hmm, are you sure its out of one of the hoses that go nowhere? Look behind the block where the temprature sensor is and see if there is dried coolant everywhere? When you filled back up was there any white smoke from coolant burning or did it all just go straight down?

Perhaps your after-run pump is shot and isn't flowing the coolant through after you turn your car off.

    Re: My ride is SICK!

Either the after run pump or your head gasket. Do a head gasket check if you know how or take it in and have them chack. Anytime coolant pours out of the overflow tank it's not good.

could just be a bad coolant cap. We see a lot of them bad. If it doesn't hold pressure the coolant will leak out that overflow hose.

If you cant figure it out your best bet would be to take it in and have someone certified take a look.

    Re: My ride is SICK!

When I saw the OP, my first immediate thought was "bad coolant reservoir cap"

Try changing it (it's cheap) and if that doesn't solve the problem, then look into the headgaskets. When you had the TB done, they likely swapped the valve cover gaskets, not the head gaskets.

I'll give that a try and hope that solves the problem.

I'll call up to the shop that did my TB and find out what gaskets have been change out for sure because i went stage 3 at the same time. and he said he changes out some seal and gaskets since they were going bad.

I've notice that my coolant tank doesnt have the little basket right at where you would fill up the coolant at. will that cause the problem?

    Re: My ride is SICK!

You mean the filler filter? The coolant tank doesn't have a filter basket. The expansion cap is designed to hold a certain amount of pressure, and if it goes bad, it starts to hold less pressure, causing the coolant level in the tank to rise when it becomes pressurized. This causes it to come spewing out the overflow hose.

I don't think they did your headgaskets because you would be charged at least $800 extra just to do that job. Like someone already said they probably did your valve cover gaskets or maybe your cam seals and what not. Most likely it's your headgasket so prepare to shell out some good cash.
