Question regarding RS4 Seats

Ok I have 2 separate questions regarding seats in the RS4


1.) I could have sworn I've seen seats in a RS4 that still look Recaro but have cut-outs for shoulder harnesses and look like they have a thinner back plate to them vs. the stock seats...could these be a european option or prototype mock-up that never made final production??...If you know what I'm talking about and have a pic please throw it up....

Ok so I wrote this and then the next thread I open I see the seats.....so what is the deal w/ these? Can you get them imported to the US for a plug and play in the US spec RS4???



2.) Do any RS4 seats come in 2 tone, or alcantara inserts...I've looked everywhere and have only seen one set of seat in black w/ red inserts and it was the platinum package (thats how the seller had it listed)....seeing that I've never seen this I'm assuming the answer is no...but I figure I'd just throw that out while I'm making a post

They can be imported, but plug and play is definitely a no. The euro spec RS4 seats do not have airbags. As for the two-tone, I too have seen the red inserts, as well as blue.

Recaro is going to start manufacturing these seats with support for side airbags so we may see them in North American cars in the future (see the bottom of this page):

In Europe you can order the seat inserts in all sorts of colors as part of the Audi Exclusive package. You can also get the Audi Exclusive package in North America for the standard Recaros, but only black with Crimson red inserts is available. Maybe that's what you saw?

^^^yep it was the Exclusive Package, for some reason I thought it was Platinum....memory ftl
