Hey B... Well, I bought Hawks, but as most people have discovered, the clips on the outer pad are not correct and they do not accept the spring clips, stock or otherwise. So I went with the OEM Pagid's. Brake dust is going to be a bitch as ngng points out but oh well. Other than that, they seem to be just fine. Have to see when we go on the next canyon run to tell for sure though.

you should look into getting the Centric Posi brake pads from Zeckhausen.com. much less dust with some improvement in bite. Centric owns StopTech (fyi).

I ended up doing the same thing - with pads that is. ECS two piece rotors where on my car when I bought it. I called ECS and oddly enough they recommended OEM (as I am not tracking my car). Dust is not too bad for me because I commute on the highway most of the week - minimal braking.

I will be looking into these rotors the next go around though. This will be the last run I can get out of these front rotors. To have my current set re-ringed, I have to pull them from the car, send them in, have ECS put new rotors on (torque to spec), send back, and put on. All that plus down time for over 500 dollars. I think these might be a good alternative to that.

How much do they weigh?

I am sure you know but coating the wheels with a bit of wax sure helps that brake dust slide right off with no scrubbing whatsoever

isn't the whole point of the ECS rotor..is once they are done. you get to swap out the rotor from the hat and save $$$

Evil o - How much do they weigh? They are a one-piece CENTRIC brand blank unit, built to OEM spec by Adam which in this case means that unfortunately they are the same weight as the stock units which is HEAVY. However, I did not buy them to save weight. I made the decision based on low cost and the great feedback I've read from other buyers. Plus I wanted the look as well. XWalkerX- nice calipers. did you paint them and put that decal on yourself? Yes I painted the calipers with the G2 Caliper Paint kit. I didn't really like the way they came out though so I followed that up with a can of Duplicolor Caliper Spray as well. Now they look much better. As for the decal, as Boost points out, these are spring clips and I did get them from ECS. They are a little pricey for what they are but they look cool.

I think some of the B7's now come with these spring clips from the factory. I say that because I've seen brand new S4's on the stealer lots with them on. Either that or that dealer was just doing it themselves.

I would assume so but I did not put the ECS rotors on the car. I am not sure I want to deal with the down time it will take to re-ring them plus it will still be over 5 bills. I will take a closer look when I am in the market. As for now, I am just exploring options.

As for driving impressions, they feel good, no better than the OEM rotor but again, I haven't pushed them yet so I can't give an honest opinion on that. Bsrpilot44 has had much more street time than I have. He may be able to answer that better for you.

They come stock on the 07-08 S4's, I think and on front brakes only. Definitely not 05.5 and not sure about 06. You can order them from ECS or from your dealer if you want them.

Nah super easy. All you have to do is take off the wheel and you'll need a couple of screw drivers. Once in there, you'll see where the stock spring clip sits inside the outer pad clip in the middle. Push up on the bottom of the stock clip and it should come out of the hole. Once you get that, you simply pry against either end and the whole thing will pop right out. To get the new one in, start in the middle first by getting the tab of the new spring clip into the pad clip hole. Then just squeeze the ends into place. That pressure is usually enough to force the clip into the hole and snap it into place. All done.
