    A4 Fender Question

I need to replace my driver's side fender.

I found a cheap one that is available for local pickup on ebay.

What I wanted to know was if this year fender(96-98) will fit fine on a 98.5?
The only noticlable difference is that the older model has an extra hole in the fender for where I believe the Audi symbol is supposed to be.

Yes it will fit and as a matter of fact, that is the same fender that I ordered to repair my car and the quality and fitment were both good. I just had my local body shop fill and smooth the extra hole that was not needed.

Here is the end result, using that fender and having the extra hole filled and smoothed.

Mine showed up in like three days, so depending on the how far it is from you and the price of gas and your time you might want to consider having them ship it as it will probably get to you next day.

Thank you very much for the quick reply.
They are only about 15 minutes away. So I will be going to pick it up.

How much did the body work cost you if you dont mind sharing?

I think they charged me $250 for everything and that included installation and blending it into the door, so that the color matched. I also had other work done by the same shop as well because they did all the repairs to my car for the accident.

    Re: A4 Fender Question

Nice! I think I'll have to do the same as you and go pick up a driver's side fender.

$30 more for a 99.5-01.5 fender.. that sucks. Still cheap though if I pick it up.

You sure they'll let you pick it up? I can't see them saying anything about it on their pages.

I called and they said they allow local pickup, but will still charge a small shipping fee for having it brought to their naperville location. For me its still cheaper to pick it up than have them ship.

    Re: A4 Fender Question

Now that I really look at the pictures, these must not be OEM fenders but I could have assumed that from their price. In fred2ka4's pictures, the bottom is painted. Shouldn't it have that black rubber piece or is it just missing?

They just give you a bare metal fender so anything else that goes on the fender has to be either reused or purchased. My body kit covers the bottom part anyways and it's been so long that I don't remember.
