Not to say this fit would not be right, but I've seen one on a 4 series and it was not impressive. Some do turn yellow after numerous exposure to sunlight. Besides, I think carbon fiber looks better in limited quantities and accenting pieces or small parts of your vehicle.

Re: C5 A6 Carbon Fiber hood

What the hell is a 4 series? I have had numerous VIS CF hoods in the past. They are good, for the most part. They are not the most expensive stuff, so you might have some small imperfections. Overall though, they are definitely not bad. I have never seen one turn yellow....on any car. I have seen them go to shit on cars that were never taken care of. That would happen to any CF hood though if the owner is an idiot.

The clear coat can go bad just like any part of your car. you just have to take care of your paint and wax it but not to much.

C'mon now don't get your panties in a bunch. Everyone knows what I'm talking about. We are talking body type here, for which there are engine variations. Same goes for the 6 series whether it is a 2.8, 3.0 or 4.2 ect.
Perhaps, you need to be a little open minded...because yours have not turned with a yellow tint does not mean it has not happened and I don't think someone that invest money in their car would not take care of it. It could be workmanship or quality of the materials used. I would find better things to do with my money. If they made CF doors for your car would you buy that too?

Just to clarify for you...BMW is referred to as SERIES. I have never heard of anyone call a particular Audi lineup a series. I'm just saying, and my panties are hardly in a bunch.

I didn't say it can't happen. I said it happens when proper care is not given. Contrary to what you think, people don't always take proper care of a car. CF hoods in particular. I have seen them go to shit. As mentioned before by someone else, they need to be maintained like paint. I would buy CF doors if I felt I needed them. The C5 A6 4.2 is a pig that won't be helped by such products though.

I don't think a CF hood is meant for an A6.

Re: C5 A6 Carbon Fiber hood

i agree..a6 does not need a cf hood..i thing there is way too much hood and it looks stupid..unless u are doin the whole carbon splitter, hood, trunk, painting roof black, carbon skirts... then u can get the hood ..so if your not spending the 10 million dollars for the rest of the carbon fiber..dont get the hood =]..thats what i think
