Advise needed with NYC owners 2005 A6 3.2Q

I'm a new owner of this beautiful A6 and it currently has 245x40x18's tires/rims on it now.

I'd like to know if 19's with 245x35x19's tires or 20's with 225x30x20's tires would be better choice.

I don't want a ruff ride and the 18's are smooth right now.

I will drop it with H&R springs 1.6 all around.

also what's the most wide tires I can do without rubbing on 19's and 20's if anyone knows.

S6's come with 265/35/19's and fit the car nice.
