ARP - The world leader in fastener technology has just released two new Pro Series ARP 2000
M10 head bolt kits for 2000 and later Volkswagen/Audi 1.8L DOHC 20V turbo applications.

Both kits feature an internal wrenching 12 point head which ensures easy installation and removal.

All bolts are Pro Series ARP2000 bolts, cold forged to ensure molecular integrity, heat treated prior to thread rolling and machining, and are nominally rated at 220,000 psi. These ARP2000 fasteners deliver a 40% increase in tensile strength over the OEM Torque to Yield (TTY) bolts.

As a bonus, they are reusable and do not require replacing.

Well it seems odd seeing that everyone keeps saying upgrading the head bolts is pointless.

Well I guess they felt that if they make it people will buy it.

BTW the raceware is a stud setup while the ARP is a bolt, so the ARP kit should be better just because of that fact.

Well is the 10mm and 11mm the thread size or the thickness of the bolt/head?

I am running a ATW block and AEB head, pretty sure I am using what the ATW block calls for.

atw and aeb are both 058 blocks. same bolt either way. :)

awm was when the change was made.

They are the same block but IIRC the head bolts are different for the AEB and the ATW. Look at the info in Issams post.

M10 head bolt kits for 2000 and later Volkswagen/Audi 1.8L DOHC 20V turbo applications.
    2000 = ATW.

Checked on 034 site and it lists the AEB for 11mm.

058 103 385b. same part # for both engine codes. call your dealer. or check etka. you remember incorrectly. ;)

awm is 06a 103 385a. nice edit btw.

LOL, seems to be a echo in here.

The question wasn't if they used the same block, but if the 10mm and 11mm size of the bolt kits are based on the threads going into the block or if it has to do with the size of the bolt holds thru the head since plenty of people use AEB heads on both the 058 and 06a block.

BTW that news is about 7 years old.

The cylinder head does not matter. It is the block that matters. The AEB's have 11mm whereas all 06A blocks are 10mm
