It is the same price as the existing stepper motor gauge package but this one is designed to match the B6/B7 interior.

Damn Winston, you're becoming the Steve Jobs of the boost gauge industry! Will the bezel fit over the current gauge or is this gauge completely different??? Any chance of doing an upgrade/exchange?

Well I was surprised to see this design as the manufacturer I am working with surprised me with it.

It is basically everything I told them I wanted in a gauge during our design process and then they made it.

The bezel and body design is completely new so there is not much that can transfer over to the current model that is available.

As for me being Steve Jobs... I wish I was as brilliant in business.

To everyone asking 'how soon?' I haven't even received a sample unit to approve yet for any issues that I might find.

AFAIK the internal is the same as the existing stepper motor gauge so the connector 'should' be the same as well. But no one said manufacturers are as logical in their ways.

This is not the gauge that will be replacing the Stewart Warner gauge.

This is a new electronic stepper motor gauge that is being made to match the B6/B7 clusters.

The gauge that will be replacing the Stewart Warner units is also a mechanical gauge but with much better backlighting. You can see what it looks like in this installation writeup: http://www.a4mods.com/index.php?page...odiAnalog.html

Is that "new, better backlighting" gauge going to be factory matched to the b6/b7 colors? I know in that picture i looks like it is inplace with a VW so it might just be my eyes playing tricks on me. The needle looks orange and the white looks off....

The color settings on my camera is not accurate at all and I don't know what to do to fix it. The pictures I took of the dual display VEI gauges come out orange instead of red.

There is no way to perfectly match the cluster colors as the LED used in the gauge is white and the OEM dial cluster plastic makes the LED color come out as off-white with a slight yellow tint. The needle is orange red is a very close match.

As much as I'd love to make a perfect match gauge the cost involved in doing that just isn't realistic considering I also sell the gauges to be used in other makes of cars.

Winston's gauges are the closest to OEM that you will find.

dot dot dot dot. friendly check in. I am honestly lost though seems like there has been a lot of iterations of gauges you have carried/carry. I want one, but I am not sure if I should wait till "this" one is ready, or buy an older one, or what.

Well the gauges I develop usually take longer than I expect to get out to market as I keep finding things I would like changed to meet my standards.

I am hoping to make a entry, mid and high level gauges to accommodate all budgets and visual preferences.

I'll post an update soon as I am still catching up on things from this summer.
