tint 101?

ive been wanting to tint my car recently but as ive been searching ive been coming across all these different kinds of tints.. Llumar tint, formula one tint etc.. can someone please explain to me the different kinds of tints.. differences? pros and cons?

The place I had my windows tint only has carbon tint and titanium tint. Titanium tint is more "shinny" than carbon tint when watched from the outside.

They are really high quality and do not fade after time. Just google them and decide, but I believe Llumar is less expensive compared to Huper Optik. Dont get the metallic tint bc it looks ugly and if you have a radar, it screws thigns up.

The metalic tint is what Im going to use.. It'll interfere with your radio, however I dont listen to the radio....

Im going with limo on the back and 15 on the front. There was a huge difference in the appearance of the metalic vs the non metalic... The metalic looks way lighter because its a smoked color almost. Also for the limo tint it provides 65% UV protection while the non metalic is 43%...

I have very fair skin, red hair and blue eyes.... I need all the protection I can get...

Im going to try and get my doctor to give me a note for tint... My tint shop says that only works for removable tint (the crap you can pull off in the night..) however Id like to have it as firepower if the argument ever arose...

There's three (AFAIK) types of tint.

Dyed
Metallic
Ceramic.

Dyed tints tend to fade over time, you know those old cars running around with purple windows? They were black at one point but have faded over time.

Metallic will not fade, but like mentioned can interfere with radio, bluetooth, and satellite signals.

Ceramic, will not interfere with the aforementioned signals.

Ceramic tints are your most expensive, because only two companies currently offer it, Huper Optik, and Formula One. For the Huper, you're lookin at like 400+ for it. I just recently got mine tinted with Formula One Pinnacle series, and paid 300, it would have been less but I had to pay an extra 50 to have my old tint removed.

If you're not in a big rush, wait until the winter to get them tinted, since thats the slower season for window tinting, they usually run specials.

i have solar guard in my car, amazing tint. I forget what kind, but its the kind that is dark outside and really easy to see out of inside. People that hate tinted windows actually like mine beucase it is extremely easy to see out of them at night.
