In Memory of our friend... Dave Van Dyck

As most of you know on May 31st, 2008 we lost a dear friend and car enthusiast; Dave Van Dyck ( "All Wheel Driver"). The following is a letter that was posted on Audiworld on behalf of his wife Sonya Van Dyck...

    Hi everyone,
My name is Sonya Van Dyck. I am really thankful to all of you for your messages (condolences) and especially to Roy for posting the announcement.

Dave always talked about the Audi forum and how friendly and helpful you all were. As you probably already know, cars were Dave's passion and he absolutely loved racing and working on his Audi. He was always updating something to make his A4 more sporty and many of you helped him achieve that. I'm certain that, though he didn't know most of you, you played a big role in his life.

He passed away on May 31 at the young age of 39, after a year and a half battle with kidney cancer. But even a day before passing, he still joked with his friends about cars and car parts. Never once did he lose his cheerful spirit and I hope you all remember him that way. I cannot believe we have lost him, but he will always live in our hearts and minds.

Thank you all dearly once again.

    Sincerely, Sonya.

Ourselves, with permission from the Van Dyck family, would feel honored to host a rally in Dave's Memory.

    "Access to Care"

The American Cancer Society is the nationwide community-based voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives, and diminishing suffering from cancer, through research, education, advocacy, and service.

    The Cruise for Cancer

On August 23rd we will gather to remember our dear friend Dave. Friends and fellow car enthusiasts alike will gather and drive in Honor of Dave and for the purpose of raising money for the American Cancer Society. With our help we can come closer to finding a cure for the disease that took our beloved friend from us.

This events route will start in Northern New Jersey, run through Bear Mountain NY and end at Buffalo Wild Wings Grill and Bar located in the Palisades Center Mall in NJ. Here we will end with lunch and announce the total proceeds raised for the ACS.

The route consists of every type of road possible; from highways to twisties its sure to be a great drive. There will be one toll ($1 USD) on this rally. Ez-Pass or cash is accepted.

This charity event is open to anyone. Any makes and models are more than welcome. Dave loved meeting new people and would of wanted everyone to participate.

For those of you unfamiliar with Royal Flush Rallies, our group was created by a close group of friends for the purpose of bringing car enthusiasts together for charity causes and fun filled events. Feel free to visit us here to join the group.

Joey you rule! I must warn you, they are stasis tracksports, so some drilling is required - but it doesn't look too hard.

Audi suspension looks like a bitch to do! But I'm only doing the fronts! I have to order the new struts when I get back from vacation (19th) and they prob wont be here by the 23rd :(

What kind of beer do you drink? :)
