So, I replaced all vacuum/boost lines along with VC gasket last week and car seems to be running well. I installed my new VEI and Podi gauge pod that I had been forever for, looks real stock clean and nice, props to [email protected]. I have a question though, I have been noticing that since I did all this that my two middle coil packs have been popping up some compared to the other two. I mean when I lift the hood I can see they are raised and have to push them down. I am not throwing a code or anything for misfire but can I buy a bracket somewhere to bolt them down. I know I can purchase new bolt down ones but their is nothing wrong with the ones now, so I was wondering if you can purchase somthing to hold them, thanks.

Go buy some flat stock, Steel or Aluminum, bend, drill, paint, ... custom. There should be the holes there still for the bolts. If not, find something that'll work

You mean get some aluminum, bend it around the coil pack and bolt them down to the vc? I could do that but come on, don't they make somthing to bot over them so they won't pop?

I haven't seen anything at this point. You could make some nasty looking piece and not care about it at all. Then go buy the 034 Coil Cover. That thing looks nice and will cover up anything you don't make pretty.

DJ to the DJ you read my mind on 034 coil cover, I was going to do that anyways, but I would like somthing some what descent to put over the coil packs.

Just save your self the effort of fabrication and go buy some "real" Hitachi bolt down coil packs and rid your self of the problem forevaaaaaaaaaaaar.

If you want something decent to put over the coil packs, spend some time fabbing up your masterpiece and make it look good. Who knows, you could get a copyright on it and sell it for mad dough.

Mo, not at all last I new he was a Jeep fan, Wrangler with 35's. I am in the military and was stationed in Virginia with him and I remember him saying he was from Gran Rapids and I had no clue where the f*** he was talking about, it's a small world though you never know.

034 makes the ones for AEB motors but I haven't seen them for the push down coil packs.

Just put some more elbow grease into the spark plugs and the coils will not pop up again.

I bought some hitachi coils which have the bolt holes on them.

I got them from ECS ( they are awesome) for like $120 something

Or is it true I did not screw the spark plug in enough and thats why it's popping up?

One of my coil packs popped out in the past, but it hasn't happened again since I tightened down the plugs really well. Just be careful to not strip the head, by tightening them to much.

ECS Stage1, I saw that eta Aug 1. I will try tightening my plugs and see how that works.

Yessir, tighten the plugs (under the coils which actually pop up) a little bit more and you will not have the issue; (if you have a torque wrench set it to 22 ft*lb). You are just loosing some compression through the spark plug holes making the coils pop out. Why spend money on new ones...

I made some brackets for mine but, then switched to the bolt down. I could sell you mine for 20 shipped.
