IIRC, flywheel is made from the eggs of a unicorn and the pressure plate sides are the from the bottled tears of children

Hmm... I'll let you know when I get whats remaining of my clutch out of the car. I'm guessing it will be in about 8000 pieces. She went boom this weekend.

Re: What is the stock S4 clutch material?

I took her to the strip and was working on launching it. I tried it at 5000 RPM the first time and it took off alright, still bogged a little bit (it was 100+ degrees). Redlined 2nd gear and it wouldn't go into 3rd. At end of strip I got my timeslip and could smell and see clutch smoke in the car.

So I let the car sit for an hour and decided to try it again :) I launched at much lower rpm and it wouldn't go into 3rd again. Tried one last time and when I tried to put it in 3rd there was a large noise and pedal went almost to the floor. Clutch wont engage, but shutting off the car the tranny shifts smoothly into all gears. Can start the car in gear and if I let of the clutch its a nasty noise and the car doesnt move. Pushed it back into the parking lot and got a tow home.

New clutch parts ordered. Will be sending the disk to south bend for him to upgrade it to Feramic material. Should be about 30% stronger.
