Fitting the front engine cover over samco TBB

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hey,

How are you guys fitting the front engine cover over the samco TBB? My engine cover won't reach the clip because the TBB is pushing it up.

    Any solution to this?

    Yeah, install it correctly.....

Honestly, the front cover should go on just as it did prior to the swap, because they are the same size IIRC. I did mine last year and it went right back on easily....

thanks.. I installed it correctly. I put the sensor so far in that the boot even goes around the outside of the sensor a lil bit. Anybody else?

No problems here. Is the neck of the opening for the sensor too long? Any room to trim? Technically you only need enough so that the clamp still goes on securely. Pics might help.

Mine doesn't fit either...and it must be installed correctly since I'm boosting 22psi and it hasn't popped off yet. No engine covers is more raw, and it lets the heat escape faster....

Re: Fitting the front engine cover over samco TBB

Is the cover hitting on the MAP sensor or something else?

If it's hitting the MAP sensor, it must be the MAP sensor's position in the TBB or the angle that the TBB is sitting on the throttle body's lip.

If you're in doubt as to what's wrong, post a closeup pic of the area and maybe one of us will see the issue.

Also remember that the nub on the Y-pipe will be affected if you change anything on the Y-pipe's mounts. Was this TBB swap accompanied by any Y-pipe changes/removal?

That and you know you are going to be back in there fixing something so why make the extra step.

I had the same problem. Trimmed the spot that the sensor goes into as much as I could and it still hits. Now I just leave it off.
