I have a following code appearing in the ECU from time to time.

17746 - Camshaft Position Sensor (G40): Open or Short to Plus
P1338 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent

According to Bently manual, this is the bank 2 sensor on the back of the driver's side cylinder, just beneath the edge the coolant tank. The coolant tank does seem to be leaking coolant from time to time (evidenced by dried coolant appearing on its seams), even though there are no visible cracks and the hose seems to be tight and it can hold pressure (I will add a photo shortly). I suppose it is possible that leaking coolant could be getting onto the sensor or its wiring from time to time and causing the intermittent short. There is nothing obviously visibly wrong with the wiring or plug into the sensor.

What's the best way to change the Coolant Expansion Tank and the Camshaft Position Sensor? Do I siphone out all the coolant and then remove the bottle, and how do I prevent air from getting into the coolant system from this process? For changing the sensor, it is very tightly nested near the firewall and between electrical and some thick plastic lines (vacuum lines? I'm not certain what is inside these), so I can't even reach in with my hands to to unplug it. Is there a tech article published anywhere on changing either of these items? I will provide photos tonight of this area and my coolant leak conditions.
