Q: No FM signal suddenly from BOSE SYM II?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I had to stop on the turnpike so I have to stop over grooved side road (which shook a car - like one before toll booth @ turn pikes). I was playing FM radio fine but it lost signals suddenly. It plays CD's fine but can not get any signals for FM or AM. FM AS does not scan any stations. Could it be a connection problem with antena?

What might be wrong? I ordered 42 design keys so that I can remove headunit but would like to know if anyone had same experience and how you might have fixed this issue....

    Thanks,
    DAN.

Fixed - FM antenna was loose! - 42designs' audio remval keys were fantastic. Pay couple more bucks to get this one rather than a cheapo from eBay!

yeah you do, it's built into the rear windscreen. Pick up (or borrow) a set of radio removal keys and check the antenna connection on the back on the headunit.

I lost most of my FM reception when the FM booster went kaput. Dealer replaced it under CPO, and I think it was a rather expensive part.

Re: Q: No FM signal suddenly from BOSE SYM II?

i've got an "open circut on fm antena" or something along those lines when i scan with vag-com, radio has never worked but i would only listen to the CD player even if it was working so i never put any effort into fixing it.

LOL, I swear, our cars must have the worst gremlins inside them...this is the first time I've ever heard of a car with so many suspect issues. 1. antenna coming loose off of the connector from the head unit. WTF?
    2. Coil packs failing for no reason 3. Door handle covers loosening up...

Only other car I've heard of something weird like this happening was my brother had a older Jetta, he backed up and his rear bumper just fell off. Didn't hit anything...it just fell off...oh, wait, that's a VAG car too...coincidence? I think not.
