Did RS6's come in a manual? PIC

I spotted a real nicely modded RS6...I doubt he's on here. Since this part of the forum doesn't get as much love, figured it be good eye candy. And when I checked it out, it was a manual, didn't know they made RS6's in a manual?

It was never offered as a manual in the US, maybe in Europe? If it is american it could just have been an A6 modified to look like an RS6.

MTM offered a manual swap for RS6's but it was expensive as hell. Or this guy could have done it, I've thought of doing it but the cost is just way too high.

Doubtful, heard it, and it sounded like a V8..unless this was a 4.2 a6 with a rs6 body kit. Then again it had rs6 brakes...It was dealer plates tho...


EDIT: looking at the pics i took of the rear, it had a euro trunk...?

Vinny, Shawn here...the A6 4.2 like the RS6 did not come with a manual. NON of the WIDE body A6's had 6 speeds!

I'm guessing someone put a 6mt in the RS6 you saw!
they should all have had them!

no, they arent offered in manual anywhere.
This car looks familiar to one of the guys on rs6.com, and the guy has around 600 hp on it.
so he did the MTM manual swap...

This guy is RS6.com he moved from Europe to the USA. It is one of two RS6's in the world with a 6MT. This particular car cost over 60k for just the tranny swap. The car has over 650hp.

The Police

Well....all good things must come to an end.

I was detained by the Swiss Police for speeding and the car was impounded. Mr. Balsen is correct. If this would not have happened, I would never be writing this thread....I would be out racing!

Unfortunately, one of the policeman was a huge Audi fan and realized that the car had a manual transmission. In Switzerland you have to have a Handelregistrarsauszug, (registration), which includes an exact description of the car (torque, horsepower, etc). If the registation doesn't match the car, then you have to get a new one....which involves an inspection of the car. At one point, the Swiss Police contacted Sportec because of the markings on the engine and Sportec denied the 610 Horsepower.....funny shit!

Since the Swiss Authorities would need to disassemble the car completely to make a proper inspection, we agreed that they would return the car and I would export it immediately to the US. The car arrives in the States this week.

The european S6's came with a 6 speed for a few years, so there are some wide body c5's with a manual... and also, MTM did the manual swap on their clubsport rs6

In 1997, Audi introduced an all-new range of Audi A6 models, based on the Volkswagen Group C5 platform. A new Audi S6, now officially known as the Audi S6 quattro appeared in 1999, to compliment its A6 platform-mate. It was available in a 4-door saloon/sedan and a 5-door Avant (estate/wagon). In North America the Avant bodystyle was the only version available.

This generation of S6 went out of production in 2003.

C5 powertrain
Aluminium alloy subframes supported the major mechanical components, including the engine. Power is from a 4.2 litre 32-valve 90° V8 petrol engine (code AQJ).

A six-speed manual transmission was standard fitment, and optional five-speed tiptronic automatic transmission (gear ratios: 1st: 3.571, 2nd: 2.200, 3rd: 1.508, 4th: 1.000, 5th: 0.803), with steering wheel-mounted paddle-shifts, and "Dynamic Shift Programme" (DSP) was available. Torsen T-2 based quattro permanent four-wheel drive was also standard. Final drive ratio (with automatic transmission) was 2.727, and both axles utilised "Electronic Differential Lock" (EDL).

Nice RS6, can't imagine having a manual in my RS.. Would be fun
