Re: Removing the sunroof control knob...

Thread Jack: My sunroof dial at times does not obey me on first command, but eventually does what it was supposed to do. There was a write up on how to remedy the situation. That to remove the panel and on the back of the dial, remove the cover for the module, use alcohol on a q-tip to clean it off, then to luft some of the metal fins (circular conection).

The DIY was constructed by an individual whom had a prefecelift, and in his pictures there was no screws that held down the cover for the module. Mine does. My problem is I can not find the correct hex key to take the cover off, and it is very furstrating. It had me thinking that there was some special Audi certified size or something.

I know this is an out of the wall question, as more than likely none will know, but what size of a hex do I need to use? Or is there some technique I could use to get those screws off?

*note:I seem to have misplaced the DIY. but here is a pic of what I am talking about. I even looked in the Bentley manual trying to find something (anything pertaining to size hex key I would need), but came up with nothing

That sucks. Would you know of any ways to take those (screws) off?

You should be able to get the Torx bit you need at the auto parts store or Sears.
