    How much would it cost??...

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Just wondering how much it would cost to install the OEM RNS-E Nav system in my car? I know if I go to the dealership its based on the hourly rate, so how many hours would be needed to have this install done? Im really contemplating picking up a system and all the parts from navparts...

Any help would be greatly appreciated...
    Thanks.

If you have a little bit of technical know-how, you could easily install a nav unit in an afternoon, or even a couple hours. A friend and I recent installed an aftermarket nav unit, 9 speakers, an amp, and two subs in about 5 hours.

RNS-E is pretty straight forward. hardest part is mounting the antenna for the GPS.

What radio did you have before, one slot or double slot radio?

If you have a double din radio AND you know how to follow directions you should be able to do it yourself.

If you get the rns-E and have all the harnesses to make the install "plug and play" its straight forward.

What is the website for nav forums that everyone goes to?? I think you should start there.

Seriously, just do it yourself, it's literally plug and play. You can get it done in an hour with no snags, the biggest problem being getting the old radio out. Think I paid around $1100 for mine on eBay with everything.

Thanks for all the comments! I think you guys have pretty much convinced me to order it and install it myself...
The only part that I think I would need some direction in would be the running of the wires back to the antenna. How easy was this for all you guys that did it yourself? Do you have to pull apart the headliner?

Order it with a magnetic antenna and just run it behind the gauge cluster. There's a bunch of writeups on Navplus, just check em out, super easy.
