any of you b7 guys delete your door strips?

Or anyone have a pic of someone else's car with the door bump strips off? Posted this in the b6 section too but since b6 and b7 share the same doors, I thought maybe I'd get lucky and someone here has done it.

He's refering to the door mouldings. Not sure whats underneath them (2 sided 3m tape or plastic rivet clips), but it would definitley give our cars a cleaner look if done properly. If the door skin is indented t oaccomdate the trim peice it would have to be filled with bondo and repainted.

As far as I know (what I have seen on the B6) there is 3M as wel as rivets holes. The door also is indented for the moldings to sit in so it needs to be bondoed to fill the gap.

Re: any of you b7 guys delete your door strips?

    it's ugly imo
    just ruins the whole line
+ in the B7 you have a ""caracter'' line in your flank that the B6 doesn't have
that in combination with thine lines of your door blades=ieuw!

That looks pretty cool, thanks for posting that. I don't think it would cost that much to do. Also I didn't know the b7 had a 'character line" , I thought the b7 doors were the same as the b6 doors.

Re: any of you b7 guys delete your door strips?

Not worth it IMO... you get a massive door ding without them, and with them you can always get the door molding re painted once hit from another door, which would cost less than having a dent removed and repainted....

Re: any of you b7 guys delete your door strips?

Looks better with moldings. I guarantee you if the car didn't have moldings from the factory, that adding moldings would be like adding S4 blades... people would do it.
