    Re: cheap window fix???

From what I understand, the A4 doesn't have a repair kit. The A6 does but it needs to be modified to fit and A4... i.e. cutting it, which IMO makes it weak and prone to breaking AGAIN and even faster than originally. Are you getting new or used regulators? How often to you roll your windows up/down... Are your windows streaky clean and smooth or do they stick when you rub your hand on them? If you have gone through that many regulators, you have a problem...

    Re: cheap window fix???

they are usually clean no sticky residue. the fix kit on ECS says its for a B5 A4....i've gone through three regulators in the last three years. i roll the windows down every time i get in the car to let all the hot air out....florida summers are nasty...

the only thing i can think of is the dude that had the car before me put double window tint on it...i keep hearing about window tint sticking in the track and making the regulator pop....but all my cars have had window tint and i have never had this problem with them....its only $12 for the kit i may try it.
