Stock Intake and filter

Well as some of you know i just got my car not too long ago.... Anyway, today i decided I would put a new air filter in it. I went to AWE which is right around the corner from me and got a new filter (the itg) and as I was taking my intake apart I noticed the whole thing was filled with small leaves and stuff from trees and even some in my airbox... I cleaned it all out and put the new air filter in and its a world of difference and my gas mileage and performance shows it. So I guess I am just wondering if this has happened to anyone else or if you have never taken your intake apart it might not be a bad idea. It took me a good 20 minutes to get all the crap out and I have no idea how it all got in there.... obviously wasn't from me driving the past month...

Yeap just put in a K-N and was shocked at all the leaves/debree in the air box. Cleaned it out a have noticed better performance and mpg. The motor can breath a little.

How all that crap gets past that screen filter in the snorkel is ?

didnt somebody have bird seeds or something in their airbox..

You gotta clean out the pre airbox screen filter also.
