    Re: AWE Intercoolers

The AWE ICs are nice. I like the ERs and they were a little cheaper, but you can't go wrong with the AWE. I would buy whichever one is currently in stock. I think Henry has the AWE ICs on his car. I have the IPP intercoolers, which is OK for a stage 2+ car, but I wish I spent a little more and got either the AWE or ERs.

    Re: AWE Intercoolers

The AWEs have been revamped, Henry has the old style ones. The ERs are bigger and cheaper but the AWEs are made to fit without any modifications.

You could try this for a front mount. Cheap, but you're going to hack up the bumper supprts to make it fit.

I don't understand how performance can be better but you overheat on the track after 15 min. Something is obviously being restricted if you overheat after 15 min. Even the OEM intercoolers would be able to withstand 15 min on the track.

    Re: AWE Intercoolers

I recently added the AWE sidemounts to my A6. They made a noticeable difference on my Stage 3 setup.

You can look in here to see the details: Click Me!

Posts #1 & #12 have pictures and details on the intercoolers themselves.

I'm currently running 23Psi on my Stage 3 setup and I'm seeing consistent temps.

Well that thingis basically blocking the radiator. I guess even with high flow fan behind the radiator it still can overheat after running hard at the autox or track. If it was my money I would go with the ERs.

    Re: AWE Intercoolers

The two main reasons that I passed on the ER coolers was the fact that they still don't include shrouds and the availability is not very good. They are available from time to time but, people are usually waiting for them to be in stock.

Make sure you buy a new windshield washer reservoir too if you're going to get the shrouds. Might as well get them done at the same time.

Thanks for the input fellas I think I'm going to get the AWE side mounts hopefully in Sept. Got some other expenses to take care of first. Unless I could live in my car for the next two months and steal some random wireless internet. Not all of us are ballers like Jesse.

    You guys are funny!

If I was a REAL baller I wouldnt wait 5 years after buying the car to mod it.

And it would be wide bodied out with ridiculous sized turbos.

    Re: AWE Intercoolers

They have a bunch of E92 and E90 on the lot but I think only one E92 had the DCT transmission. The rest of the E92 and E90 are all 6 speed. Also, it seems like the dealer favors the carbon leather trim because most of the cars on the lot have it which I really don't like.

    Re: AWE Intercoolers

I think real CF would have looked much better. It might be more common in other cars now but seeing that carbon leather in person is so much different than in pictures. I thought it looked bad in person. I went with the wood trim because the aluminum was too much contrast for the black leather interior.
