I got the letter too.. I took a brief look and technically it should only apply to those of us who have immobilizer chips in our keys. Also, if you look closely, the proposed settlement seems to say primarily that VW/Audi will make the equipment and stuff available to third party locksmiths and will charge competitive prices(not sure about this). In short, there doesn't seem to be anything for us in terms of monetary compensation or anything. It also doesn't look like it has gone to trial yet and that the plaintiff has accepted the settlement. I guess things can still change. It also stipulates that it will add documentation to the manual[which is included with the letter] pertaining specifically to the smart keys. A little strange that I got it though, because I don't have an immobilizer chip in my car... =_= Long and short, it doesn't really seem like there's anything in it for us car owners really. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
