Storing an Audi for a year tips.

I'm leaving for Germany in 2 months for a year and my car will need to go into storage. I'm working on getting a place for it so it does not get disturbed over this time. Some things I already know to keep it fresh and healthy are...

    - Full tank of gas w/ fuel stabilizer.
    - New Oil Change
    - Teaspoon of oil in each combustion chamber and crank it a few times w/o firing so the walls are lubricated.
    - Moth balls on the interior
    - Jack it up on 4 jack stands so tires dont get flat spots.
    - Remove the battery.

I ordered a OEM car cover to cover the car, but should I leave the windows closed or little open for ventilation.

I'm hoping that when I come back, the car will come out of hibernation and does not smell like mold inside.

I don't think thats a good idea. Gasoline is a good lubricant and prevents corrosion buildup from water vapors inside the tank. Full tank with fuel stabilizer is really the way to go.

If possible, see if you can find someone to take your car and run it for a few minutes once a month or so. Running the heat and A/C will help, and regardless of what you do in prep storage, seals will dry if the car isn't run.

We store our Cabriolet for 9 months a year, and only start it periodically in the winter to let things relube themselves. Other than that, you've got it.

ya, we store the M from November-april every year, never have any problems. Best thing is to add fule stableizer and jsut start the car once a month or every other month to get it lubed so nothing seizes and you will be set.
