    Re: AC problem w/ code

erase the code and see if it comes back. Unplug the electrical connection to the ac unit with the car on and then plug it back in. You might need an ac recharge from the stealership. If you do that have them put in new expansion valves or clean the current ones with throttle body cleaner spray or similar solution.

    Re: AC problem w/ code

i had that same code, replace the stepper motor, its hella easy, take out the glove box and the stepper motors are right there and accessible, that one is identified by a light blue washer on the linkage.

    Re: AC problem w/ code

well still having problems with the A/C took it to a mechanic he apparently "cleaned" the system put new coolant and checked for leaks. found no leaks and "everything" is working and no codes, i still only get cold air in the "LO" setting and the air that comes out is not that cold compared to my wifes audi it seems that the air coming out is maybe compared to her 70 degrees i'm getting fustrated now i've spent about 300 bucks now since i've had the car and no fix yet. what can be causing this? is the a/c head unit messed up? please help it's HOT as HELL here in Houston

I have the same code but if I run VAG com and get to HVAC and click on basic settings change the first one from 000 to 001 and it will reset all motor flaps/servo and the code doesn't come back or everything should reset.

My guess is that you need to get to basic settings and reset all motor flaps because the new motor might have gotten the old motor settings.

Keep in mind that once I reset all the AC motor flaps the air is colder then before.

Do you have a VAG com?

    Re: AC problem w/ code

I share your frustration! My a/c isn't reliable at all. I Found if i reset the basic settings it works for a little for me. But i get these codes constantly.

00601 - Potentiometer On Positioning Motor for Central Flap (G112)
    30-10 - Open or Short to B+ - Intermittent
01809 - Actuating Motor for Temperature Flap: Left (V158)

01810 - Actuating Motor for Temperature Flap: Right (V159)
41-10 - Blocked or No Voltage - Intermittent
    01842 - Potentiometer/Actuator for Temperature Flap: Right (G221)
    30-10 - Open or Short to B+ - Intermittent
01274 - Air Flow Flap Positioning Motor (V71)

00604 - Potentiometer Positioning Motor for Air Flow Flap (G113)
    30-10 - Open or Short to B+ - Intermittent
00716 - Air recirculation Flap Positioning Motor (V113)

I noticed if I do the basic settings it goes away and the first code that comes you should replace it. One Audi Tech told me one bad motor can cause others to show bad. I dont think all of the motor flaps are bad but since one is not working its erroring others.

I'll be following this thread now. I checked my codes yesterday and had 1809, cleared it and checked again today and now I have 1809 and 1810. Will try the basic setting in the morning and see if that helps.

I share these problem with you guys and the A/C issues i swear my car has the crappiest ac ever! now i talked to my mechanic today and he thinks that the mixing flaps aren't quite closing all the way. we put the gauges on the system to check to see if i was low on freon. that was the case. according to the gauges we should have had approximately 28-32 degrees from the vents i had 40 degrees on the drivers side vents and center passengers i had 55. so no where near where i should be! no he is thinking that the servos aren't quite closing those mixing flaps enough so there is a tiny bit of hot air coming in through the vents. i am mostly having problems with my center vents. does any one have a diagram of the hvac system they can post?

    thanks

Sorry for the thread necro, but I think I'm having a similar issue:

00601 - Potentiometer On Positioning Motor for Central Flap (G112)
30-10 - Open or Short to Plus - Intermittent
01810 - Actuating Motor for Temperature Flap; Right (V159)
41-10 - Blocked or No Voltage - Intermittent
01274 - Air Flow Flap Positioning Motor (V71)
41-10 - Blocked or No Voltage - Intermittent

Other than my A/C being a bit weak, I'm not having any major problems (yet) with my climate control. I do have this faint whirring motor and clicking sound coming from my center console though. This sound persists even after the car is shut down and key removed.

Does anyone have a part# for the flap motor that needs to be replaced? The trademotion link above no longer appears to work.

Can't be 100% but i think this is your problem 01810 - Actuating Motor for Temperature Flap; Right (V159)
I had the same issue and i replaced it. However it wasn't the flap that was malfunctioning as it continued. From their the next step was to replace the Climate Control unit however I sold the car before I could get to that.
I also happen to have a spare motor if you want to throw some $$ my way. I'll happy to send it to you.

    Necro: Part deux.

    00710 - Defroster Flap Positioning Motor (V107)
41-10 - Blocked or No Voltage - Intermittent
01274 - Air Flow Flap Positioning Motor (V71)
41-10 - Blocked or No Voltage - Intermittent

I have the above codes and my symptoms are annoying clicking sounds when the car is running and no heat unless I'm driving at a high RPM. If it's the clicking noise, then I'm assuming the part I need to replace is the one from the OPs second picture. Does anyone have the part number for that? The link he provided doesn't work anymore and searching for "Adjust motor Ventilation" did not yield a part number.

I'll also try messing with block 0 settings in the HVAC section in VAG-COM to see if I can get it work.

Replaced the vent motor today. It was pretty straightforward. The glove box came off easily enough, but it took some effort to get my ratchet to get the screws off the vent motor since the area for the back screw was tight. On the whole, it's really simple. I tested everything after replacing the motor and the vent flaps opened and closed as, I imagine, they should. I took it for a 15 minute drive and I had consistent heat. I'll monitor for the next week to make sure everything continues to work.

On the downside, I broke what was lift of the plastic hinge on the glove box while examining it and now the right end of the glove box hangs when I open it. I'll have to stop by a shop and pick up a small hinge that I can drill into the glove box.

Pics of my fixed hinge and a better way to fix the glove box than what I, unfortunately, did: http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...34#post7138334

    09-00 - Adaptation Limit Surpassed
    01592 - Air Quality Sensor (G238)
    37-00 - Faulty

Okay I tried the same thing as everyone else. replacing 8E1820511M . That dint fixed the problem. So after taking the drivers side knee bolster out. Theirs another motor there, which controls the flat the closes the air flow from the heater core. I disconnected the arm and moved it manually. One way AC and the other heat. The motor itself is still moving. But doesn't seem like its enough. I wonder if the perimeters are out of sync? Is there a way to test that or should I just replace it?

You can see the motor on the middle left with the red arm on it.

sitting in the passenger seat looking at the servos the left 3 servos go like this bottom G221 top G112 in the back G135
right hand side bottom(farthest back) G113 top G143

before you go replacing servos like me, keep in mind to look at the movement of each handle i kept having this code

00604 - Potentiometer Positioning Motor for Air Flow Flap (G113)
    09-00 - Adaptation Limit Surpassed

i replaced the servo and was still getting the code then i watched did some basic setting testing via vag com and noticed the blue handle from that motor wasnt moving it was skipping because it was stuck.. i took it out blew some air in there but it back and it works now and no code..

Lets try interpreting (see photo link):

    1 - G221 Central Flap Motor Potentiometer
    2 - G135 Defrost Flap
    3 - G112 Central Flap
    4 - G143 Air recirculation Flap
    5 - G113 Air Flow Flap

Also curious: where is 'air mix'/air temp flap/motor/poti located (and the number?

And: how to add visible photos with Dropbox (unlike photobucket, dropbox links don't 'show').
