Check out some interesting artwork some jerk did to my car in Santa Monica last Saturday night. The suspect (s) keyed the entire perimeter of my car starting from the back right, going across the hood and back around to the other side and to the trunk. And they slashed 3 of my tires.
Ended up having to tow it 40 miles to Walnut at 0600 on Sunday morning b/c AAA was so backed up that night.
Im guessing it was b/c I had parked in a small parking lot and possibly in someone's spot.
Total cost for the repairs so far is 5 grand (basically going to repaint the whole car) and fortunately insurance is going to cover it. The S is going to be out of commission for about 2 weeks .
So if anyone knows anything about this ( I highly doubt it...), please let me know b/c there are matters that need to be settled.

first things first, go to the parking lot where it happend, and look to see if there are surveillance cameras... then ask to see the video and see if you can get a plate...

This is the better advice than perhaps just braining the next guy who gets in that spot. It might not have been that person, or it could be a girl who mistook your car for another.

Where in Santa Monica?

Whoever did it, had a pretty serious beef with you, your car, or mistook your car for someone else's. I had my car keyed in London one time. I actually got surveillance video of it from the business next door and it turned out to be some street rat hoodie kid walking with his buds at 4am and he simply keyed one side as he walked past.

Your case is different. I don't know how to slash a tire but it doesn't sound easy. You need some sort of tool which would suggest preparation. To key up multiple surfaces and slash 3 tires suggest some pretty strong motivation especially considering the time, effort and risk they took to do it.

So either you're sleeping with someone's girlfriend, your girlfriend has a seriously jealous ex, you have a seriously jealous ex, or your wife has found out about your girlfriend. Whoever it was, they were pretty motivated.

Parking in someone's spot doesn't make sense unless the owner of the spot is crazy enough to risk jail time just because someone parked n his space.

Anyway, i hope you catch the bastard. I'm in Santa Monica a lot and park on the street there. If that ever happened to my car I would want to kick some serious butt!

This really hits home to me. I have basically the same car, color, and go out in Santa Monica all the time. I am sorry to see this. I can't imagine someone keying a car for being in their spot but I guess if ''assigned parking'' is the case you can always track down their car and ask them some questions? My detail guy says this happens all the time in LA, especially Century City. He gets many brand-new clean-cars coming back to him that have been keyed. He says it is purely out of spite. Every time he does my car he always reminds me to be careful where I park. I hate thinking of that!!! It's a messed up world we live in! Sorry to see this happen. Ditto on the surveillance camera. Also - please check with the City. I believe Santa Monica runs a program known as Graffiti Tracker - where they place cameras throughout the City to take photos of areas known/prone to get graffiti. Those cams are excellent, and can pinpoint crims to a tee. Hope you also got a police report.

Yes will do. I'll prob head out to that area tomorrow and do a little investigating. I know its not a ex b/c I've got them all in check ;) haha. It seems more likely to have happened b/c I had parked in that parking lot.
Hopefully someone out there has a security camera that caught something. Lets see.
Well now that I'm getting my whole car practically repainted, I'm having them paint that chrome lining around the windows black. Maybe get a few other things done while I'm at it.
