My wagon is at the shop and I don't have access to it and need to know if this cover I want to buy will fit inside of it

    Dimensions are about 5.25'x6.25'

    TIA for any information.

    The hatch opening.

Need to know if a 5'x6' object can fit inside with the rear seats put down.

No way, even at an angle it will never be 5' across. I doubt its even 4' across.

I just tie stuff like that to my Yakima cross bars with no attachments

I'm just wondering how safe it would be carrying a 6'x5'x2' 70lb box strapped to the top of the wagon.

It's not the most aerodynamic package.

As long as it is secured, especially along the front where the wind will push it upwards, I would have no reservations about putting that on my rack. Just get some ratchet tie downs for $20 at WalMart and put the load bars far apart.

Then post a pic so we can all compare your car to that jetta that was pw'd all over the world a few years back hehe

Yeah. What Jon said. It'll be fine on the crossbars if strapped down properly.

I had my entire stock exhaust up there (in one piece).

I also had 1 sheet of 3/4 inch plywood, 4 sheets of sheetrock, 8 sheets of cement board and a few other things when I remodeled my bathroom.

It'll be fine. I wouldn't recommend any triple digit speeds though.
