    Another BT build question.

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
All I have left to do on my build is run my passenger side IC pipe to the turbo, I have a Racetec IC. I cant for the life of me get the pipe to come anywhere near the turbo. My guess is the Eliminator is a different size compared to the K03 that the Racetec was designed for. I have the newer version IC, (two aluminum pipes) one short and one longer and bent upward. I also have two 45 degree silicone connectors and one straight one. I have no pics but I'm sure you guys that have installed a BT can picture it. What can I do rather than sitting there and trying again cause it's not going to work. Every way I position them is no where near close enough. Thanks.

dont know jack about the racetec but I think I remember people having the pipe backwards which caused it to not line up. That might be from the previous version though, im not sure.

    Re: Another BT build question.

This one is two pieces which looks as though it will work but it comes nowhere close once you try and install it. I tried working from the turbo first at one point and I ended up with a 5-6 inch gap between the pipes and this was using all of the flex hose. I even moved the smog pump, I bent the bracket it was on and ran in front of it and I am still short of reaching the turbo.

I have the ER comp hotside FMIC pipes, bigger than the Racetec but should work with a reducer. $100 shipped for either the stock turbo one or BT one

I believe Racetec offers hotside plumbing for stock turbo and a different option for Elim/BT's, might want to check on that

I think you may be right, but I don't see how. I was on Race-tec' site and looked at the way they have it and don't see where I am screwing up at. I'll be back up there pulling my hair out at 8am tomorrow. My Dad said he may fabricate something so it will work out eventually.

Nothing Racetec had mated to my GT28RS. I had to kinda fab my own. Since when is the AWE a Racetec? It wasn't last year; AWE must've changed their design? Their pics on page two of the forum with all the propaganda shows a different IC than what my Racetec looks like, too.

I don't see how it can be because the Racetech doesn't sit in the same spot from what I can see. Not that it matters to me; mine works and that's all I care about, lol.

I am a racetec dealer, have known the person that started the company since before he did start it and have never heard of any such thing.

ER pipes are not going to work with a Racetec fmic since the inlets to the end tanks are not even close to being at the same angle.

I had to use a silicone elbow to get mine to fit properly. I used the elbo coming off of the turbo, let's just say it was fun.

I had pictures showing the orientation of the RaceTec hot-side piping but they are not uploaded and not on my computer (I'm traveling). You'll have to wait. However, shoot papacristou a PM. He has my photos somewhere.

    Re: Another BT build question.

Thanks guys, I got it worked out this morning. I think Racetec sent me too many elbow hoses and not enough straight ones (only two). I had to go to Amazon hose and rubber here in Orlando and buy a couple different straight silicones hoses to get the job done. Nothing is exactly bolt-on, I don't care what anyone else says.
