Is the cabin filter on a B6 S4 located at the back of the engine compartment up near the passenger side firewall?

    Re: B6 S4 Cabin Filter?

I need to replace mine as well. I'm assuming I need to remove the decorative plastic shrouding over the air intake tube. After that is the cabin filter plainly visible or do I need to removed anything else?

    Re: B6 S4 Cabin Filter?

Guys it's a real simple process. Check it out.

1st - Remove the plastic battery cover.

2nd- Remove the rubber seal as shown. It's best to take this all the way off.

3rd - Remove the plastic cover as shown.

4th - You will now see the pollen filter box as shown. Simply unlatch the tabs, open the top and remove the old filter.

Install in reverse order and you're done. The plastic cover in the third pic takes some shimmying to get back into place so that the rubber seal can go back on properly but it's not hard to do. Just take your time. This entire process should take no more than 5 minutes. Good luck.

YOU DON'T HAVE TO REMOVE THE RUBBER SEAL! The plastic cover is removed by slightly twisting it at one corner then pulling it out of the seal from one end to the other.

True, but for someone that has never done this, removing the seal just makes it easier I think. And, it's so freakin easy to take the seal off and put it back on it's not a big deal.
