    Paint damage/scuffing

A while back my window was busted open. I used duct tape and a bag to seal it before it was fixed. When the tape didn't come off I used a sponge and screwed up my paint. Here are pics of both the body paint and pillar paint. The last pic is of my fender. It was like that when I bought it, not sure whats wrong with it but its clouded.

The pic of the pillar and the body shows a darker line on the body, I think that is glue I have not been able to get off. It is not a scratch.

you probably already know this...pics don't worky work.

just from the other posts you have had, i am assuming your a4 is in pretty bad cosmetic shape. if you want good results, have professionals do it. if you are willing to do the work yourself, make sure that you are patient and expectations aren't too high because you will become frustrated with the end result.

Actually, if I wash and detail my car it looks great, but when you zoom in and look close the flaws come out.

    Pics should be fixed.

    Re: Paint damage/scuffing

Try to get a detail shop to "burn" in some polish on the paint before running to a body shop and spending $1000's. If the damage is on the clear coat only, (can you feel the scratches with your fingernail?) then it it can probably be buffed out fairly easily. This shoudl only cost you $100-$200.

I think the pillar is just plastic, not painted...

Depends on yoru skill level, I personally wouldn't and I own an airbrush and do T-shirts, models, etc. for 10 years...but if you would like to try it, I suggest masking the heck out of the surrounding area, use the 3M green Automive masking tape and spray it and let the paint dry and cure for a week.

    Re: Paint damage/scuffing

it doesn't look tooooo bad, have a professional detailer look at it. He might be able to polish it out, but I doubt you can do anything by hand. Look on forums like Autopia to find someone in your area
