Car does not start, does not turn over either

I left my car for a week and came back to her this morning.
The car tried to turn over on the first couple of try but it didnt start

After the second attempt, the car would not even turn over.
It just made a hissing sound when I turn the ignition key like "shh shh shh" and no spark in the engine at all.

what should I check for?
Spark plugs? coilpack? battery? (it is an original battery about 4 yrs old)

Jump it and let it run a bit, turn it off and try to start again. If it doesn't work I would say battery. I don't know why anything else would go wrong while it's just sitting there.

If you get a ticking noise when you try to start it, that's the battery. I found out the hard way in another country.

I am going to try to jump the car soon and replace my spark plugs.
report back soon.

I dont think I heard any ticking...all i could hear was hissing noise sounding like the starter.
but i could be wrong.

Weird.. this is happening to me also. Randomly happened after I installed a new DV. I believe it to be the fuel pump or relay

LOL tell me about it... I think it just randomly decided to stop working at the same time as I was installing the DV.. leading me to believe that it was something I did, even though I only touched a vacuum line and a hose.

Even further mystifying is that the ECU threw the "Check Sum Error" at the same time.

tried jumping the car with the help of my friend B7.
Car STARTED right away...warmed it up about 10 mins or so and shut her off

Tried starting her again (this time without jump) and car did not start.

This is a dead battery for sure isn't it?
I am getting Optima Red Top soon!

Running the car for 10 minutes will NOT recharge a completely dead battery. The alternator is not THAT strong lol. To truely test if it is finished or not you need to try charging it with a real battery charger. Unhook the car leads from the battery if you do this.

Drive it around, idling for 10min isn't going to do it.

I was only testing if battery was the problem.
I was not attempting to recharge it.

I plan to replace it with a new battery

Just installed a new Optima red top 35 battery.
Car starts great but there are a few issues.

ESP light is on. do i have to vag it?
keyfob is not working at all. I had to manually lock the doors.
My APR chip is GONE!!.....is this common? now I wonder if they are going to charge me
for re-flash.
