it sux on the 5V heads, why do you need it done? If your talking about adjusting the valves, we have hydraulic lifters so you dont ever need to touch them in that respect

Yeah, it depends on what you're referring to...
Are you talking about an angle grind job?

    Re: Valve Job DIY?

Yeah, I guess that's a bit of an ambiguous term.

My engine has w/ 3 low cylinders (@ 90, 90, & 125psi) determined via a compression leak down test. Additional symptoms were the common misfires which I believe were directly due to fouled plugs which I assume was due to the loss of compression.

That said I've read that the fouling could be caused by bad gas. I run 91 octane gasoline from Costco. Their gas (N. California / San Francisco Bay Area) comes from a local Chevron refinery (the only local refinery).

As for them possibly being the O rings, I suspect it's not the O rings simply because I haven't read much of them going bad but I could be wrong on that.

I also suspect it's not the head gasket as I have no other symptoms that the gasket is bad. No loss of coolant, or coolant smell in the exhaust, etc.

So that leaves the valves which I have read posts where they needed to be replaced but unfortunately I haven't found any posts on the replacement procedure.

Whether or not I need to do any machining, we'll determine once we get in there. That will be outsourced anyways.

    Thanks.
