    Question Quick "safety" advice

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Ok guys, so I've been planning a GTRS upgrade for late September for awhile now but I might be able to afford it sooner than that and maybe in time for a track day I plan on attending on the first weekend of September. But here's the thing, I have no brake upgrades for now besides ceramic pads and that scares me.. Any advice?

    Thanks a lot everyone
    Anthony

I've seen a few guys here say something along the lines of "once you go Big Turbo, you need to go Big Brake as well," or at least S4 brakes.

You'll be fine for a while. Just take it easy until you can upgrade the brakes. Upgraded pads, stainless steel lines, and new fluid will help a lot.

Your stock brakes wont last a whole track day with chipped power. If you scream into a corner under GTRS power you will heat soak your stock brakes in 2 corners they dont have the stopping power for hard track use. They barely suffice for daily driving !

You gonna accelerate fast, but without proper brakes its not much of a fun on a track. It might be also dangerous/// You can try, but if u feel like your brakes dont hold on track-you better stop.

With upgraded pads and fresh fluid, I think you will be fine for a day at the track. If you start to feel fade, back off and call it a day
