    Airbag light ON

Gentlemen, I have an airbag light ON.... my car is due for inspection next month (August 2008).... I need help!!!

I used a SCAN TOOL from Snap-On Tools and it stated the problem as:

N199 DRIVER SIDE SENSOR THRESHOLD EXCEEDED

Has anyone run into this problem?

    If yes, how to fix?

Is it a sensor in the left upper back-rest of the driver's seat OR a sensor in the driver's side 'curtain' ???

Any North Jersey / NYC members willing to perform a VAG scan for a fellow AZ'er?

There are sensors under the drivers side seat, check those.

I had that happen once, I shut the engine off, ate dinner started up again and it's been gone since. There is a TSB on this according to one site I was looking at, google "2004 A4 recalls" and look at the technical service bulletins.

Light is solid 'all the time' .... it never goes away.

I even tried disconnecting the battery (over night) and it came on immediately with start-up the next day.

I couldn't even clear it with the scan tool I used.

    I tried GOOGLE-ing recalls for my 2002 B6 A4, but no success.

I'm going to call AoA tomorrow and see what they say.

That's for "upper limit of side airbag exceeded" so a dealership might not cover it.
