Great B8 Avant News or BS?

Hey folks! Current BMW 328xi Coupe driver looking to order a 2009 Avant. I have been researching a few Audi boards trying to get educated and have cross posted this message.

I'm not sure if this is BS, but two different dealers have told me today that the Avant will come to the US with a manual! I also heard that a new order form came out dated 7/18 (they got it today 7/23) and it looks like you will be able to get an S-Line option on the base "premium" package (however you can't order any B8 with s-line as it is "in red" as of now).

The icing on the cake, this particular dealer said he thinks he can get me that Avant by December!!!!! Merry Christmas to me. He will confirm and call me back tomorrow. I really hope I am not spreading BS rumors from ill informed sales people :^(

So, my questions:

1) Can anybody else coroborate the manual availability and new order form with the new s-line story?
2) What other good a4 forums / boards do people like? In particular, the e90 boards have a "prices paid" section that is great for researching deals with other forum members. Haven't found one for A4s yet (other than Edmunds).

well i'm not much help. but i just read that
"S Line Exterior - standard on 2.0T and 3.2, greatly enhanced standard exterior appearance "....... sounds like it's part of the base package now.
would love to get a manual avant myself, but i still have my doubts even w/those salesmen saying otherwise....unfortunately

i too, go to edmunds for the prices paid section. it's great. we don't have anything like that that i'm aware of on the forums i go to. it's great that bimmerforums has the lease numbers for the bmw's....but i think those are all posted by a bmw dealer.

Dealer called me back. His mistake.... no Avant manual, no ability to get the s-line unless you have prestige package.... the only thing that was accurate was the 7/18 revision to the order guide.

He could only fax it to me and the fax is illegible. Sorry. Near as I can make out, they added a new black interior designation code (qf) brushed aluminum and black headliner. I think it is for s-line only. They added a Audi music interface as a stand alone option.

Why do we know more about this stuff than Audi's employees? If that was my job, I think I would make a better effort to know my product.

Back to my cheap leftover 08 manual s-line vs order 09 dilemma.

That is for MY08 B7 A4, not MY09 B8 A4.
