Car Won't Start after DV Install

    Okay I'm perplexed here
I had been having trouble with my CVT transmission lately (gears in cluster display disappear and car goes out of sport mode when in it) so I took it in to Audi today.

Service guy calls me back and says there's no code in the transmission and that the blow off valve spring broke and was causing a huge vacuum leak and that was causing the car to get all fubared and act weird.

So I ran to a tuner shop and got a forge 007 and installed it. Forge in the TIP, thin vacuum line from manifold to the little top part, and hose from the intercooler piping to the open end of the DV.

Went to start my car and it just does the csh csh csh csh and never starts. Ran VAG-Com and got a code stating "Internal Control Module: Memory Check Sum Failure - Implausible Signal"

I ran lemmiwinks and connected to the ECU fine

Also worth noting, I opened the DV and inserted the yellow spring (15-23 psi) and screwed the top back on.

    Posting from vortex

    1 Fault Found:
16985 - Internal Control Module: Memory Check Sum Error
    P0601 - 008 - Implausible Signal

I had an APR 1+ flash but then had it reflashed for stock to go in for warranty work. It drove fine yesterday and today since the reflash until this randomly happened?

Do you think there was an error on the flash yesterday?

Another thing is when it didn't want to turn over I checked my sensors and the MAP sensor was unplugged. I plugged it back in and still nothing and same error code that I can't clear. I unplugged the battery for 20 minutes but still nothing.

I can still connect to the ECU with lemmiwinks and make adjustments.

Group 35 has only alarm trigger codes and Group 17 has no fault codes

A shot in the dark here, but disconnect your negative terminal and let it sit for like 10 mins and then go back and try to start it. It it starts do a throttle body adjustment via vag-com.

Re: Car Won't Start after DV Install

Thanks for the advice, but I actually tried that. Unfortunately, no luck. The thing is that I can make changes to the ECU via lemmiwinks so I know the ECU isn't dead. I did some research and found that this is a somewhat common error for APR flashed ECU's. I'll be calling my dealer in the morning and seeing what he has to say. From what I've read the dealers are able to just reflash it and it fixes it

The DV shouldn't have anything to do with the starting. Car can run without a DV even (not well mind you)
Definitely have the ECU checked out.

get it reflashed... i dont quite understand why you would have it flashed for transmission warranty work

Internal Control Module: Check Sum Error usually means the ECU is bad, typically the car will still start/run though with that code.

Re: Car Won't Start after DV Install

So I talked to my APR dealer and he said the car would still run even with that code (but he can get rid of it anyway) so seeing as there were no codes that meant it was either ignition or fuel. We tried listening for the fuel pump and realized it wasn't turning on.

    Being towed to Audi now
