no boost while running climate control

ok so i know that there is always a power loss while running the A/C, but mine is extreme. normally i can feel when boost kicks in and i can see the boost gauge go to 7 psi like its supposed to. but when running the ac, i have absolutely no power and i can watch my boost gauge needle not even move hardly. i literally rap out the gear and have to shift before my boost gauge hits like 4 psi...its pathetic. i live in the south so i need my ac but i am getting tired of having no accelerating power so i need to figure out why its doing this. anybody ever seen this? what could be the problem??

have you ever checked for boost leaks? throwing any MIL/CELs? have you had the car VAGed for DTC's? do all these things, and if possible, run a log and see whats going on...

In your sig you list a speedtuning chip. With mine I spike at 20psi, so if your getting only 7 w/o ac on then I would definitely look for a leak.

yeah i do have a speedtuning chip, but i have had weird problems with the software ever since they flashed my ecu. cause everyday when i turn my car on, i hit about 17 psi in the first couple of gears, but then my ecu puts it back to stock settings, like i'm overboosting and the ecu puts me in limp mode. i have made many posts about that in the past and the only conclusion i could come up with is that they didnt flash my chip right and its not getting the correct fuel ratio so the ecu is cutting back boost. but i gave up on the issue and am just wanting my car to run like it should stock. but yeah i've done boost leak checks and i'm good, no CEL or anything. i have never had my car vag'd cause i dont have one and i dont know anyone that does. i have asked many people on the forums that lived near me in the past to help me out and vag my car for some beer or something and nobody ever responded to my requests.

. If your chipped and only hitting 7psi, i would go back to the company who chipped the car and have them fix the problem. IF not jsut go back to stock. Ac in these cars kills any power them might have also,

I live in NC and I rarely run my A/C because it is such a dog with it on. I'm in 1st gear twice as long just to get it going. I thought my compressor might be going and bogging down the motor. I just roll down the windows now. I sold my jeep to get this car so I am used to it.

wow, i have never had a car that bogged as much as this car does. i didnt even notice any power loss in my 2.8 ,12 valve that i had before. i just cant believe this is normal for the 1.8t...but i guess everyone cant be wrong

I can defenitly tell my car bogs down with the a/c on but you should still be making boost, if you are not boosting at all something is wrong.

thats what i'm saying! i mean, all cars bog with the AC on, thats obvious. but my 1.8t is crazy bad. it takes an entire gear to try to make a couple psi. that cant be normal. but what can be causing it? i'm currently doing a seafoam treatment (waiting til my tank of gas is gone) so i'm gonna see if that helps at all, but i doubt it. any other suggestions?
