    Critical 'AudiCare' maintenance question

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    I don't drive a lot, I average about 5,500 miles per year.
Some people in here are positive that the 'Audi Care' maintenance program is good for up to 45,000 miles regardless of year/time.

According to the program (?), it is as follows:
15,000 (after the initial 5,000 free service)
    25,000
    35,000
    45,000 (final)

This is confusing because I've asked one of the reps from Audi service today and he explained to me that if I don't use or adhere to the 4yr or 50K time frame, I will lose out of what I paid for. That means even if I only put 5,000 mile/year, I will still have to bring it in within one year even though my car is way under mileage. For instance, what the heck are they going to do if my car's only got like 19,000 in 3 years? Nothing? I lose out on $590 for the program, is that it?
Can some one clarify this for me?

Based on mileage or time whichever comes first...

The service is scheduled based upon the specified odometer reading or 1 year elapsed time sinced the last service, whichever occurs first. If you are doing low annual mileage, then your service should be occurring every 12 months. Audi Care expires 5 years after the in-service date, so if you do low mileage and return the car prior to that period (eg lease return) hen Audi Care may not have been the most cost effective service option for you.

I own my car and will get all the corresponding services done within that 5 year period so it's worthwhile for me. YMMV.

You should have got an Audi Care brochure with the car that explains all of this.

The 4yr/50K timeframe is for Audi Warranty - that's different from Audi Care.

Yes according to this from the link I added - if you didn't get it, might be worth contacting your sales rep about it.

Is there a scheduled maintenance plan available for Certified pre-owned vehicles?

Yes, for model year 2004 and newer, it’s called Audi Care, Certified pre-owned scheduled maintenance plan. It can only be purchased at the time of the Certified pre-owned vehicle sale.

I purchased the car, it was explained but there weren't any brochures or anything else given, just a $590 charge to Audiusa in the contract. I thought (at the time) Audi was still giving free maintenances during its warranty period but they said that was over so I was given an alternative which was the Audi Care, it sounded great, but I should question more about the program regarding its terms and conditions. Also, I didn't know I was going to drive this less because I thought I was going to sell my other car but ended up driving more than the Audi for personal chores.

It's 4 year or 50k miles, whichever comes first. Whoever told you it's regardless of time is smoking crack.

After initial 6 months or 5k miles (whichever comes first) service, you bring it in every 12 months or 10k miles, whichever comes first.
