Price for tinting

I wanna get my windows tinted, I was quoted at 2 different places, 1 place was $200 (about 10 miles from my house) and $225 for a place in my town, is that a fair price? Never got windows tinted before so I dunno what the going rate is

Yes those are fine quotes... see if they will back there product if you are going for the limit and if they ill re-tint for free if you end up breaking a window...

damn those are pretty good prices. I was quoted 325 to have the rear tint removed and then the whole car tinted. I think it was Diamond something brand iirc.

$225 seems fair to me. The socal people have skewed prices, if you are on the east coast and north of florida it will cost $200+. Make sure you get the exact brand name and % of the tint so that in the event you need to get a window redone you know what type to get.

Where in Mass are you? If you're local to me I know a guy that'll remove your current tint and re-tint with a lifetime warranty for $180.

since you live in Mass, you car will be tinted by Paule, the guy who drives a White Dodge Magunum. It will most likely to be him.

That's right it's legal to tint that in the Sunshine State. In the Golden State, you can only do the first 6 inches and both front windows can not be tinted at all. To tint the rear, the law requires a passenger side mirror.

East coast tint prices are ridic...The quotes you got are reasonable, but out west you can get full wrap tint jobs for $150...windshield and all!!

Yep, 250$ here in Canada to untint and retint the 5 back windows of my Avant.

I'm afraid of untinting my back window. The guy said sometimes they break the defrost lines. What do you guys think about untinting ?

they used some tint called SunTek with a lifetime warranty, tinted everything but my windshield and moonroof! mind u it was the 4th car we had tinted by him, a couple guys on here were tinted by him as well he comes out to u!

$400 for Huper Optik/Ceramic... the only tint worth getting. Ceramic blocks heat much better than regular tint.

Those are pretty good prices. Where in Worcester are you going? I am assuming you went to Rayco's right down the street from you? I've heard they charge a lot and they do a crappy job. Sun N' Sound down the street is not bad, and that shop on rt 9 across the street from white city (forgot the name) does a real nice job for about $230. I know of a shop that does it for $175 in lawrence, but that's sort of a hike.

basic drive thru car washes start at like $8, but pretty much is just soap and water. If you want the wax and the wheel wash, it's like $18. I see over in the west coast and down south you guys have employees (mostly mexicans) hand-dry your car, wheels, vacuum interior, etc. We don't get any of that here. We get the basic drive thru and that's it.

A exterior wash at the "Car Wash" will run you about $10 which only washes the outside and they will hand dry. If you want windows, inside and out, tire and rim dressing and wax, Rain X, vacuum, air pressure the vents, crevices of the interior, etc, it will be $20.

About $150- $220 over here... yeah it would look like it came out of the showroom, but they can never get the new car smell back, though...One thing I miss about buying a new, new car.

Not really, we only have 2 such car washes in my city, but I think it is more of the cheap ;) labor...usually undocumented immigrants...there is an advantage to being the state to have the largest number of illegals...shoot I get both of my lawns mowed twice a week for $50 a month including weeding and fertilizer, the whole package!

It is a combination of the new carpet, new plastic and the fresh glues that stick everything together. You can't really bottle that. The new car scent most air freshners give you have a soapy smell, so it's a clean smell. But there's nothing that will bring that new, fresh out of the factory smell in a car. However, Audi's don't seem to have them. I sat in a few new Audi's at the dealership and the new cars didn't have that smell! Japanese cars, have a real faint smell, it is the good ole American cars that have the real nice new car smell! LOL Go rent "Christine" by Stephen King, there's a line in that movie that talks about it.

The "new car scent" is a result of the solvents used when they assembled the car. There have been studies done and it's actually slightly toxic, i still love it thought
