    Decent springs for the money?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
What would you consider the top spring for:
    A. drop
    B. value

I just want to close the gap and give the car a better stance. I DO NOT autocross, I DO NOT go into exit ramps @ 80mph.
I just want a decent drop and am NOT doing shocks. I'm keeping the 45000 mile sport shocks for now. I know, I know

    H&R, Eibach, Vogtland?

    Thanks

Re: Decent springs for the money?

They are all about the same as long as they all sport or race.
Stock shocks will last longer with sport springs. But eventually you will nee to reaplce them.

H&R, my boy had them on his B6 and he has them on his B7 and they ride great. Not as great as my Koni coils, but they are damn good for springs.

Re: Decent springs for the money?

I have Eibach Pro-Kit springs on stock shocks and I would recommend getting some aftermarket shocks. Not because you track the car, but because the ride can get fairly rough with just springs. The Eibachs are probably the least aggressive springs and the ride is still pretty hard and boomy. It may be better for you though because you have sport shocks. Mine are non-sport. Click the link in my sig for the drop.

Re: Decent springs for the money?

Eibach is prolly least aggressive. If you go with H&R, they'll def wear your shox down quickly.. just remember this when your car starts to bounce! cuz you'll most likely have to replace them eventually even if you choose not to right now..

If you want something a tiny bit lower, you can look into an 02 sport suspension. I'm sure there's posts on here about it w/ pics

I'll sell you my Tein S.Tech springs for $170 shipped. They only have 7k miles on them and have 2.2 inch drop on normal suspension and 1.7 for sport.

How difficult would a spring install be? What tools would be needed?

Re: Decent springs for the money?

Please post up some pics you guys of your drop. I am debating between Nuespeed and H&R SPORT springs. I do NOT want the wheels to tuck, but rather for them to be just hovering over the fenders.

Dropping the subframe for the rears is the easiest way. Unless you have a spring compressor like audi or MikTip has... think he spent $300 on it though. Your basic socket/ratchet/wrenches can get the job done. Need torx bits to get the fender liner out of the way if you need to.

I'm guessing this is H&R sport springs? Miktip, have they settled more since then? That is the drop I am looking for, just maybe 1/2" lower.
