When i corner really hard (only when turning to the right) the left front wheel area experiences some very strange sounds. The best way to describe it i think, is a metallic scraping sound with a hint of grinding (high pitched grinding). Its almost as if the shield behind the brake rotor were scraping against the rotor when i turned hard (like, i gotta be going real fast and do a real hard turn) but it's not, checked that shield for any wear marks. Also, in the mornings when i back out of my driveway i will get a couple of intermittent clicks from the same side..
could it be my cv joint giving out? the boot is still good and to my knowledge hasnt had any problems with it. Ill be autocrossing soon so i want to get rid of this problem
lets shoot down a list of stuff that could make this sound
1. Worn CV Joint
2. Wheel bearing starting to go
3. play in worn bushings causing stuff to scrape when high forces are applied
4. something in the caliper/rotor assembly scrapes
Also wanted to mention it feels like my rotors are a little bit warped, as they kind of hobble when slowing down.. so could this do something with it?
